Will lowering the voting age to 16 make people get more political?

I can't make my mind up on this one. I tend to think the right to vote would be as under-valued by 16-year-olds as by 18-year-olds. Perhaps even more so.

I think its a great idea to give 16 year olds the vote. I think that it will mean that younger people start thinking about politics earlier - and it should encourage schools to have more about politics on the curriculum as well.
